Structured Chinese study can cover pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, reading and writing. Practical tasks connect those skills with everyday situations, such as ordering food or asking directions. Discuss your starting level and goals with a consultant; progress depends on your study plan, practice and time available.

Yes. Previous Integrated Chinese courses included complete beginners. Beginners need a foundation in pronunciation, essential vocabulary and simple sentence patterns before tackling more open-ended conversations. Share any prior study when you inquire so the team can discuss a suitable starting point and confirm available classes.

Studying in Shanghai gives you opportunities to use Chinese outside class: reading signs, shopping, ordering meals and speaking with people around you. Online lessons can provide structured teaching without travel. The difference is the setting and practice opportunities, rather than a guaranteed rate of improvement.

A study plan can combine classroom explanations, listening and speaking practice, review and opportunities to use Chinese beyond the classroom. Previous programs included guided real-life tasks. The balance of lessons, independent practice and optional activities depends on the course; request the actual timetable before making other plans.

Tell the team your current Chinese level, preferred duration and whether your priority is everyday conversation, broad language skills, business Chinese or HSK preparation. Ask which group or private course fits those goals, and confirm the maximum group size for that specific course. Future summer group arrangements are not yet confirmed.

Consider the confirmed teaching campus, commute, budget and length of stay when comparing accommodation. Ask the GoEast team about local neighborhoods and available housing guidance. Confirm who makes the booking and what it costs. Meal arrangements vary, so discuss dietary preferences and check any meal inclusions before booking.

Request a written breakdown of tuition, materials, teaching hours and any guided or optional activities. Check accommodation, meals, transport, flights, visa-related costs and personal expenses separately. Future summer prices and inclusions are not yet confirmed; previous program prices should not be treated as a current quote.

Check the current requirements with the Chinese embassy, consulate or authorized visa application center responsible for your application. Ask GoEast which course documents it can provide for your proposed study plan. See our X2 student visa course information for the school’s existing course context; eligibility and approval must be confirmed with the relevant authority.

Ask for the written payment schedule and cancellation or refund conditions that apply to your selected course before paying. Terms can depend on the course and booking; do not assume an old summer promotion or a different course’s policy applies to your inquiry.

Confirm your course start date, teaching campus and accommodation before finalizing travel. Allow time to settle in and plan your route to class. Ask the team about arrival guidance and any transfer options, including their cost and availability; do not assume airport pickup is included.
