GoEast Mandarin is a Chinese school online and in Shanghai. This is our explanation by our Chinese language consultant Lynn (季玲 Jì Líng), who helps you get started with your Chinese learning journey at GoEast Mandarin. This video is taken from Shanghai’s Yangpu campus, the school that is also used for online teaching. Here are three points on why you should learn Mandarin Chinese with GoEast.
1: Chinese learning materials
For our online school, we don’t use paper HSK books for learning Chinese, because if you are not in Shanghai it’ll be difficult to buy and carry such an official HSK book. So you use a computer instead. You can also use your smartphone, but a bigger screen is better. Our courses are still based on the HSK system, because we love HSK for learning Chinese.

2: Your Chinese teacher
Each week you’ll have Chinese classes once or twice, we also have intensive programs with five classes each week. You can learn with group classes with 3 other classmates, but also with your teacher, learn one on one. These are held through Zoom (Read more here how your online classroom works).
During class, your teacher will help you practice speaking Chinese. All our teachers can speak fluent English, so they can understand why you made such a mistake because English grammar has that structure.
We will go through different Chinese grammar structures and sentences, to help you use the Chinese vocabulary and grammar you have learned correctly — instead of memorizing. This can help you keep accumulating new Chinese language skills.

For online Chinese teaching, our Mandarin teachers are equally good. We meet every week to discuss student feedback and suggestions and make corresponding improvements to the curriculum. This is how we achieve an NPS of +84.
Every GoEast Mandarin teacher is a true language lover, and has a lot of teaching experience. We will also give another two months intensive training to prepare them for our standard of Chinese language teaching.
