If you merely want to focus on daily talk, it is not necessary to know how to these Chinese grammar points clearly. But perhaps you need to pass the HSK exam, or you want to know why and how exactly Chinese people talk in that way. If you are really interested in the Chinese language and want to figure out every single word you are learning, it is highly recommended to develop a habit of fully understanding grammar, and looking words up in the dictionary. Maybe you’ve already had the habit of using a Chinese dictionary (Pleco?), but now you need to pay more attention to the meaning of individual words. Many words (not only grammar points) in HSK 5 originate from ancient Chinese. As you can see, grammar points in HSK5 are much more formal, and more often used in written language.
